The Canadian Music Industry Training Centre, a training initiative spearheaded by Manitoba Music, has a simple aim: empower musicians with the information necessary to make informed self-guided decisions about their career.

We envision a Canadian music industry and environment that provides equal opportunities for the musician and the independent music industry to education, information, funding and exposure on a local, national and international level while creating a high awareness of Canadian music for Canadians.

Our Success Criteria

• We will measure the extent to which we have created a positive independent music industry environment by assessing these characteristics:
  • efficient, clear communication among members of the music industry
  • ready access to information
  • access to education and training (with accreditation)
  • effective advocacy efforts on behalf of the music industry with government and other stakeholders
  • strong development initiatives that promote and advance the industry
• All activities can be measured against whether they lead to sustainable, long-term careers within the Canadian independent music industry
